We are a candle making studio focused on creating memorable experiences. The concept to start True 2 you LLC was centered around my background in education, candles and making special memories.
We have two focus areas:
Our service area customers from Metro Detroit come to our location, or we come to your location and create custom fragrance blends for candles.
Our Product side manufactures our own candle line and wholesale candles for retail stores, fundraising events, weddings and more.
OUR PURPOSE
To create an atmosphere where others can come, enjoy the company of others, while making memorable experiences through candle making.
Meet The Team
Leslie Neal, Founder/CEO
Leslie Neal is the Founder of True 2 You LLC and known for her creative ideas and showing others how to have their own. With over 20 years working in education K-12, state government, and higher education she has extensive experience in teaching and leadership.
Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio Leslie has always been a lover of the arts, and has her own family ties within the art community. A passion since youth has been her ability to create and innovate new things. After moving to Michigan and working in state government Neal owned a fine art gallery before the economy crashed 2008, which forced her to close the gallery and go back into higher education. During this time Leslie continued to soothe her soul and passion making candles and jewelry as a hobby.
After years of working higher education, the desire to create continued to burn into soul, itching to come out in some form. Taking a partial leap, she created True 2 You Candle Studios in Canton, Michigan 2020 right before the pandemic. As it turns out the pandemic, allowed Neal to focus on a business plan to start operating part time, custom making candles to sell online and wholesale options for other customers. As doors began to reopen, Leslie had created the Fragrance Blend Bar to give others the experience of candle making.
Leslie’s purpose with True 2 You is creating an experience that others will cherish. “Its all about making memories, that’s what I want my customers to experience. Memories, with girlfriends, significant others, co-workers and family” With wholesale options, fundraisers, and her own candle lines memories can be made through giving to others as well.
Her Bachelors in Psychology, Masters in Education and career in these fields have truly prepared her to jump freely into her passion. “Life comes full circle when you remain True to yourself”.
Al Neal Jr.: CFO/CCO
With over 20 years in Law Enforcement, Neal has years of experience in compliance and attention to detail. When his wife Leslie created True 2 You LLC, he knew his knowledge in these areas would help with with the small business. “Luck is a concept I don’t believe in. Preparation leads to success when opportunity comes your way and it is not by chance. God has given us an opportunity to serve others, establish relationships that will enhance our spiritual, social and financial growth.”
Content Analyst and Candle Barista
With a major in Journalism, writing has always come easy for Leslie’s daughter. Helping her mother with content and learning how to help others have a memorable experience seemed like fun to her. “Having the opportunity to share in our family business through things I enjoy makes working fun.”
Youth Creative Image Consultant and Candle Barista
Leslie loves having young people around her and having two young people around her constantly, she feels compelled to have family around her. Kelsey is a creative, with a keen sense of detail, perfect to review the overall image of the business. “Anything that shows creativity I gravitate towards. Being able to give input on merchandise, the look of our website and content planning give me the opportunity to use my own creativity to help build our family business.”

Our overall purpose is to create a safe space for the African American Community to discuss the past and create a better future for ourselves and our legacy through counseling services, mental health workshops and community engagements. Our community organization is located in the Ypsilanti/Metro Detroit area.
WHAT WE FOCUS ON
The focus is on YOU! Whether you are seeking individual, couples or family counseling, looking into our Women of Color Support Groups or interested in attending one of our many community events in the Ypsilanti/Detroit, this is for YOU. Experience has shown that individuals who feel heard will continue to improve emotionally, mentally and physically. We hear YOU and want YOU to begin YOUR healing!

Not only does our community organization and counseling approach cater to the Black Community, but we are apart of the Black Community. Our therapists have personal experience because we too are Proud to Be Black! Everyone’s journey is different but we all have our culture and ethnicity in common. Though our organization is geared towards the Black Community, we do not discriminate and offer all services to all races, religions, genders and LGBTQ communities.
A portion of all True proceeds will go toward this organization/foundation in order to help others light shine.
